Dan is excited to work with budding philanthropists (individuals or families) in developing a values-based strategy to support the causes they believe in. Through an inquiry process, Dan will collaboratively assess their philanthropic values and priorities. The final product will include a strategic grant-making framework, proposed decision-making structure and approach, and an implementation plan and timeline to achieve the desired impact.

Throughout Dan’s career, he has been involved in fostering collaboration within and across sectors. He is passionate about the increased potential for impact that can result from strategic collaboration. He played a pivotal role in the creation of three Twin Cities-based collaboratives considered national models: The Itasca Project, the Central Corridor Funders Collaborative, and the Equitable Development Organizing Project. In addition, his work as CEO of a national learning network has equipped him with the insights and skills to facilitate large group processes to gain consensus on values, priorities, and action strategies.
Dan can assist your organization or network through a range of consulting roles. He is available for short-term engagements or full blown collaboration-forming processes that can multiply impact in the broader community.
